ROAM

Wild Animals and the Race to
Repair Our Fractured World

My book, published in October 2025, explores the impact of our human-engineered world on the rest of Earth's species and chronicles efforts to knit the planet back together so that both animals and humans can survive and thrive.

BOOK TOUR INFO

“Deeply reported and persuasively told, ROAM is a gorgeous testament to the habitats that sustain life on earth—and the power and promise of protecting them. An inspiring and necessary read.”

“Hillary Rosner has written both an elegy and a blueprint. With small and careful adjustments, we can—and must—make a world in which both humans and wild animals can thrive. We must do it now, for their sake and for ours.”

I’m a science journalist

My work explores the strange and disturbing ways human activity is altering our planet, and also the people devising innovative ways to understand, adapt to, and counteract those changes.

I’m also an editor and teacher

I taught journalism and science writing at the University of Colorado for seven years, and I work regularly with scientists to help them tell their stories. I have also been an editor at many publications, including most recently Anthropocene and bioGraphic.
